The Lord chose Israel to be His special possession, His witnesses to the world. And even though they failed in that calling, God didn’t stop there. Today, He gives us that very same calling. Listen to how He speaks about you in 1 Peter 2:9: “You are a chosen people… a royal priesthood… a holy nation… God’s special possession…” You’re chosen so that you can declare His praises – the One who pulled you out of darkness and brought you into His wonderful, healing light. Just ponder that for a moment. God wants His light to shine through you in simple, everyday ways. In how you love people. In how you carry peace into tense moments. In how you choose kindness when it’s not easy. In how your life quietly points people toward Jesus, sometimes without saying a word. Hold His Word close. Let it shape your thoughts, guide your steps, and soften your heart. As you move through relationships today, let His character show up – His love, His forgiveness, His righteousness. God’s plan didn’t end with Israel. It continues through you. You are His child; chosen, empowered, and sent. May His light shine in you and flow out of you as a blessing to the world.
