The key

The key

“I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.(Isaiah 22:22) – At university graduations a golden mace is carried on the shoulder by the chancellor. This symbolizes his authority to open the ceremony and confer degrees. Jesus had a wooden cross placed on his shoulder as he walked towards Calvary. This was not only a symbol of his authority but a key to open the grave, and confer life on all mankind. The moment that key was placed in the earth  “the earth shook, the rocks split and the tombs broke open. The bodies of many holy people who had died were raised to life.” (Matthew 27:52). What began then continues now, as Jesus holds the key to unlock your life – both now and for eternity.
