Pro 6v6 – An ant lesson

The Bible often points to lessons for us that can be gleaned from nature. Solomon was a dedicated naturalist: He spoke about plant life and animals and birds, reptiles and fish. Proverbs 6:6 is one example: “Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!” Here, King Solomon challenges a lazy person to learn from ants, creatures who exemplify hard work, discipline, and foresight. We know that ants are driven by purpose, having a clear objective, which shapes everything they do, and so should we because God made us for a purpose. Ants are successful because they work as a team, just as we should align ourselves with others who can help and support us. Also, ants think big. Their contribution to the animal kingdom is extremely great. God created us with inbuilt greatness, so we should walk in it. We shouldn’t worry about how the world perceives us but just understand our worth through the eyes of our God and Father. Open Bible – (Jenni K)
