Jam 4v15 – God willing

Our family were travelling in a busy town in Botswana. I was busy typing a message about the time we would be arriving at the border. I was about to type “3pm” and was thinking of putting “God willing” after the time, but then I decided we shouldn’t have delays. Two seconds later, we were involved in a collision. Thankfully it wasn’t serious, but it caused a three-hour delay. It made me realise how little control we have over our life. “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, ‘If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.’” (James 4:14-15). Allowing God to direct our life does not mean everything will go our way. God’s children have suffered beatings, imprisonments, shipwrecks and even death. But God always fills us with His spirit of peace, strength, patience, compassion, forgiveness and love. We know every detail of our lives is in God’s hands and always feel His loving presence. Perfect peace, no matter what happens, only comes when you surrender every detail of your life to God. There is no better life than one that happens according to God’s will. Pray as Jesus did – “Not my will, but yours be done” (Luke 22:42). Open Bible – https://bit.ly/jam4v14-15, http://bit.ly/luk22v42, http://bit.ly/READMore_ (Nicky B)
