2Co 4v6 – Rainbow gems

“Diamonds are forever.” This clever marketing phrase encourages millions to buy this precious gem as an eternal symbol of love. The allure of forever and its rainbow sparkle are enough to create the desire. However, it’s only recently that scientists have been able to really look closely at gems. By shining a special pure light (called cross-polarized light) through a very thin slice of the gem, they can see the colour inside. Either the gem reflects a rainbow of colours (called anisotropic) or appears black (called isotropic). Diamonds, along with other gems like garnets, rubies, and opals, are black. Yet here is amazing evidence of God’s inspired Word. Of all the gems that could have been chosen to be included in the image of the New Jerusalem – the symbol of God’s dwelling – all 12 are rainbow (anisotropic) gems (Revelation 21:19-20). And it’s only now with modern science we know this. Besides this, further evidence of God is the message that God’s pure light will reveal who we truly are. “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:6). To be a gem that truly lasts forever depends not on our sparkle but on what lies within us – darkness or the glory of Jesus. Choose Jesus. Open Bible – http://bit.ly/2co4v6
