Son 2:10-13 – The Love message

You wake up in the morning and reach for your phone. You notice an unread message. You open it. It’s from Jesus. “Arise, my darling, my beautiful one, come with me. See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land. The fig tree forms its early fruit; the blossoming vines spread their fragrance. Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.” (Song of Songs 2:10-13). This beautiful poem written by Solomon is a love message from the bridegroom to his bride – from Jesus to us. It’s time. Time for the marriage. The winter of our lives has been long. The season has been cold, and so much life has ended. But he tells us that flowers are appearing. Spring is here. New life is coming. It’s time for singing. It’s hard to imagine spring when winter is all around. It’s hard to imagine life when all we see is death. It’s hard to imagine singing when suffering abounds. Yet, the promise of Jesus, his personal message to you today, is that he is coming. As sure as summer follows winter, his kingdom of life will follow our world of death. “Arise, come, my darling; my beautiful one, come with me.” Open Bible –
